Announcing the Release of Eye Strain – A new Jaxon Jennings Thriller

I’m excited to announce the release of my next novel, Eye Strain, a Jaxon Jennings Thriller, coming February 21, 2017.

This is the fifth book in the series and my tenth novel overall. Here’s the back cover copy to give you an idea of what the book is about.

All private eye Jaxon Jennings wanted was a vacation— just a few days to lie under the warm Caribbean sun with a cold beer. A much-deserved break from tailing cheating spouses, ex-cons, and insurance scammers.

But Jaxon’s hopes for time off are upended when his friend Max’s strange behavior lands the poor guy in the middle of an island murder investigation.

Jaxon works hard, and fast, to clear his friend’s name but makes a startling discovery: Max is a man with a dark past.

Unfortunately, someone from that dark past wants Max in prison or dead or both—along with anyone who tries to protect him.

Desperate for answers, Jaxon races to save Max from a killer—and a murder rap.

Can Jaxon exonerate his friend in time, or will the killer find him first? Is Jaxon next on the hit list?

From the first page of his latest Jaxon Jennings thriller, Eye Strain, author Richard C Hale mashes the gas and refuses to let up. A pulse-pounding manhunt that hooks you in and refuses to let go, Eye Strain will keep you guessing to the very end.

Watch for it at all your favorite book retailers on February 21, 2017.

With a cover like that, how can I resist? C’mon back to our BOTM discussion, Betsy’s got more questions for ya! HAHAHAHA! I’m still laughing about George in the pool and the snowball fight! I think you should drag out Ellie and Luke for a follow-up, now that they’re older. Let the FBI recruit them! Cheers! Jim in MT 😎

Thanks Jim. I’ll head on over and answer some questions. Been a bit distracted this week. And as far as Luke and Ellie, working on THAT book right now. I’ve been wanting to bring them back for a while, but I don’t think it’s going to be what you’d expect. 🙂 See you on the forum and thanks for stopping by.

Glad you checked back in with us! Great stuff you added. So you’re a pantser, eh? I’m trying not to be a pantser, but then I start writing and digging and pulling on threads and next thing I know, I’m 30 words into it. I wish I could outline, but it takes a while to find the ending. Whaddaya gonna do?

In the forum if you are on your computer there is some code you can put in to make the spoiler thingy. Obviously, I don’t remember. Mostly I am on my tablet typing with one finger.

I will be adding more to my BOTM site about FROZEN today and putting up more links to your stuff, plus EYE STRAIN. Yeah, I bought it for $2.99! Don’t spend it all in one place!

So the name Jaxon must have come from Jacksonville. I’m a quick study! My nephew is Jaxon. All the best on Tuesday!!

Yep, Jim. I’m a “pantser.” I’ve tried fighting it and plotting whole novels out but it doesn’t work for me so I don’t try anymore. I might do a bit of advance planning once the story gets rocking along, but that’s my limit on outlining. And Exactly, Whaddaya gonna do?

I found the code for the spoiler thing so I’ll use it. Thanks!

And thank you for pimping me on your site. I appreciate the support very much. You are the man!

Actually Jaxon came from a friend of my daughters. His name is Jennings Jackson, I used to tell him his named sounded like he should be a super hero or something. So, I decided to reverse it and spell it a bit differently. That’s where Jaxon Jennings came from.

      Thanks again for stopping by.

    Loved EYE STRAIN!

Did you survive the “procedure”? Did they implant something in your head? Will TRAFFIC be released?

    The waiting is killing me!

    Cheers, dude!

Check out the stuff I put up about EYE STRAIN and those big black frames!

Okay, he’s alive and okay! Except that The Procedure was postponed to Tuesday. So y’all can start worrying all over again. Do you think you can launch TRAFFIC prior to going under? Yunno, just in case😲

Apparently The Procedure worked and you got TRAFFIC out the door! Congrats! I just bought it.

Cheers and do like you wanna!

Hey Jim! Yes, I’m just about all healed up. It went well and the doctor was pleased, though I did have gallstones in there the size of grapes. Yikes! Thanks for grabbing Traffic and I hope it holds your interest. I really like it. The new character I introduce I plan on bringing back. She’s pretty badass. 🙂
